Humming to herself, the ever happy Heatherpaw bounced along through DayClan territory. She just loved the openness of it all. She didn't like being trapped in my trees or even tall bushes. They just...bothered her. Perhaps she even had a fear of being boxed in, but she shrugged it off. She giggled as she skipped towards the sea cliffs. They weren't her favorite, but they were Rockpaw's and today, they had decided, they were going to go where Rockpaw wanted.
The muscular tom ambled along behind his sister. How could she always be so cheery? He didn't know. He often found it depressing that they had no parents, but she hardly seemed to care. They had died so long ago though....Neither of the siblings really remember their parents. He shook the thoughts off. "Think happy" he thought to himself. He smiled as he heard Heatherpaw giggle and gazed at her lovingly. She was always so happy go lucky. Rockpaw's smile widened as they reached the sea cliffs. The sound and the smell of the ocean was always so calming for him. He loved to just sit and think here.

[mind if your mentor jumps in? xD]
Blazebolt was out along the sea cliffs, in hopes of finding some watermint. That particular herb was usually somewhere around here...
The tom sniffed around a nearby bush near the shore and sneezed once. He sat back and rubbed his nose with his paw. He let out a sigh and his tail flicked. gah, i've been serching for nearly an hour, and stll no sign of...- His thought was cut short as he heard the sound of giggling coming from the distance. His ears detected a female voice, and he thought he heard another cat...but oh, what did he know? Probably just....
He scented the air.
Heatherpaw.
He blinked twice and thought back to when he had last talked with his appretnice. "Now Heatherpaw, I want you to go out and look for some roots and bring them back here to me." The firy tom told his appretice, as he watched her run off through the entrance happily.
OKay, so he had told her to go look for roots to bring back. But obviously, his apprentice had other matters to attend to. He scented the air again, in hopes of knowng who the cat with her was... He recognized the cat now, a tom, Rockpaw. Oh yes, her brother.
Blazebolt was alittle peterved that Heatherpaw didn't do what he asked..or did she? She surely should be back at camp right now if she did find the roots for him.. But of course he should have been back there wating, but he saw they were out of watermint, so he had to come down here and find some.
His eyes widened momently. Great! Now no medicine cat was at camp to help a cat in need! darn it.. He thought as he stood up and heard Heaterpaw and her brothers' paw-steps becoming louder and louder. He took in a deep breath and padded out, "Hello Rockpaw, Heaterpaw." He greeted them, face showing that he knew Heatherpaw was in abit of trouble. "What do you think your doing Heatherpaw?" He meowed to his appretnice. "Didn't I tell you to go out and fetch those roots?" He prodded her, tail swaying from side to side impatintly. He had been out here for an hour looking for watermint, but he then finds his apprentice lagging off with her own brother. What else will happen today?

Rockpaw sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws. With a small purr her closed his eyes and let the sea breeze carress his fur. Heatherpaw, however was looking around wildly. She scented her mentor. But where he was exactly, she wasn't sure. Rockpaw raised an eyebrow at his sister.
"Do you have a tick in your pelt or something?" he asked, amused, as the she-cat continued to glance around. She wrinkled her nose in distaste as Blazebolt revealed himself.
"Hello Rockpaw, Heatherpaw." Rockpaw nodded his head in greeting to the medicine cat. Then he turned to his sister with a look as on his face as if to say "Again?" Her eyes narrowed at her brother and the medicine cat apprentice fought the urge to stick her tongue out.
But then she turned back to Blazebolt as he spoke again. "What do you think your doing Heatherpaw? Didn't I tell you to go out and fetch those roots?" Heatherpaw looked down, tracing the ground with her paw. "Erm well..you see..I um...got distracted."
She glanced up at him. "Besides you didn't even tell which root!" the words burst out of her mouth and Heatherpaw looked down again. She didn't actually remember if Blazebolt had said which kind or not. She didn't even remember him telling her to get roots. "Oops," she thought.

Blazebolt's ears twitched and he frowned abit, "Distracted...yes, I see that." he meowed, glancing to Rockpaw shortly before looking back to his apprentice.
He surpressed a sigh. of course I didn't tell you! You were supposed to bring me back different sorts so I could tell you what they were... He thougth to himself. "It doesn't matter, I told you to go get some sort of root, but you chose not to." He meowed matter-of-factly, tail flicking Heatherpaw's shoulder lightly.
He waited to see what Heatherpaw would say or do. His apprentice sure could be irresponsible sometimes..he had to help her out of that...

As Blazebolt's aze turned to him, Rockpaw stiffened. He didn't want to be in trouble with the medicine cat. He hadn't known his sister was suppowed to collect roots! Deciding, to let his sister settle things with her mentor by herself, the tom turned back to the ocean.
Heatherpaw frowned at the tom's sigh. Why was he sighing? She wondered as her ears flicked in curiousity. She kneaded her paws in the ground and frowned yet again at his reply. Any sort of root? Now why would she do that? She didn't do well with indirect orders. If he had said a certain type, then perhaps she would have gone looking.
She flicked her tail and gazed at her mentor with wide eyes. "Next time could you be more specific?" Heatherpaw asked. She meant no disrespect, she only wanted to let her mentor know her feelings.

Ripplestar stood by the edge of the cliffs, the salty air making her short hair fly around. Just the way she liked it.

Heatherpaw glanced over to her right as movement caught her eye. It was Ripplestar. She glanced back at her mentor, then looked again at Ripplestar. She considered going over to the leader, but she wanted to see her mentor's response to her. Rockpaw, however, padded over to Ripplestar. "Hello," he said quietly.

Blazebolt listened as his apprentice spoke. "Heatherpaw, the whole point of your task was to just bring me different types of roots, and I'd tell you what they-" The blazecolored tom began to explain but stopped short when he tasted the air.
Instantly he picked out Ripplestar. He looked over to see the leader sitting by the edge of the cliffs, her stone grey fur ruffling as the salty wind blew by. He took a second to stare at his leader, how peaceful she looked, but why was she out here...?
Blazebolt's eyes went back to Heatherpaw, before taking note that Rockpaw had left to go greet Ripplestar. He hesitated before speaking."Fine, I'll be more specific next time, just try not to get off task." He meowed to her slowly, just giving in as his tail flicked her gingerly over the nose. "Now that we're out here..." He began, glancing around and thinking of what he could teach her at the moment.

"Hello, Rockpaw." Ripplestar meowed. "How is your training going?" She sat down to let the salty sea air warm her pelt. It almost never snowed here. The air was always a comfortable temperature, and it was just the kind that Ripplestar preferred.

Heatherpaw wrinkled her nose as her mentor spoke and almost let out a sigh. She understood now, she just hadn't understood before. She glanced at him curiously as her mentor stopped talking. She saw his eyes directed towards Ripplestar. When her mentor's attention again turned to her, Heatherpaw smiled with triumph at Blazebolt's reply. She knew better than to gloat and she wiped the grin off of her faces, replacing it with a small, respectful smile. With a nod Heatherpaw said, "Thank you Blazebolt." She was totally devoid of respect. What shall we do? Heatherpaw pondered the question for a second, then flicked her ears. Must they she always be learning something? "How about we...umm...well, you're the mentor, you know better than me," she replied.
Rockpaw sat down beside his leader as she greeted him. He settled himself down and curled his tail around his paws before replying. "Not very well," he admitted sheepishly.
(ooc;; rockpaw doesn't have a mentor yet. how does he get one?)
