Spottedstar walked slowly out of her den. It was time to appoint a new depuuty. She sat down on the High Ledge. Spottedstar meowed, "Let all cats big enough to catch there own prey join here for a clan meeting!" Spottedstar watched as the cats filed in the clearing. "Our old Deputy, Toadfoot, died today. May StarClan welcome him, but as you know I have to appoint a new deputy before Moonrise." Spottedstar paused for a moment. "I say these words above the body of Toadfoot. So he can hear and aprove my choice. _______________ will be the new deputy of NightClan."

Emeraldheart walked up as he heard his named called, he would be deputy of night clan, he looked up at the moon and stars, and then looked back at his mate, he smiled, he was happy to become deputy, to be safe in the clan, with wonderful cats, he smiled one last time before he was anounced deputy, he closed his eyes, and heard the words "you are now deputy of nightclan" he jumped in the air, and licked his fur smiling he had finally become deputy, he looked at spottedstar and waited for her to reply to him. he knew he had made the right choice of becoming deputy, now he had a home, a family, and he could never be let down, he had knew he had to do it, and he did, the new deputy of nightclan he repeated those words as he walked around, in circles.
