Within the apprentices' den, a small black tom-cat could be seen sleeping soundly. His name was Nightpaw, and he has been an apprentice for over three days now, not long, but he was copeing. He was glad to be out of the nursery for sure! It was geting rather noisy in there with all the other kits.
Nightpaw's tail twitched back and fourth as he dreamed. He was deep within Leafclan territory, walking along a path that lead into a huge opening, a vally. His black pelt was like an obvious shadow as he ran along the valley, just enjoying the sun-shine. Green-leaf brought much warmth and prey! Speaking of prey, was that a rabbit he saw in the distance? He hadn't caught one yet, but he did know what they looked like, since Mapleleaf had taken him out to explore around a small grove.
The apprentice dashed after it, but was distracted by a tickling on his nose. He let out a sneeze which brought him back into reality, back into the appretices' den in Leafclan.
Nightpaw had actually sneezed, both in his dream, and out. Upon opening his ice blue eyes, the now skeptical tom was staring at the tail of some apprentice infront of him. "What in the..-?" He began in a soft mew, his words etched with a yawn at the end as he blinked acouple times. Rays of sunlight were seeping in through the brambles of the den, making him squint. Rolling up, making sure not to roll over any other apprentice he didn't see, the tom gave another yawn, stretching.
Morning already...? He wondered, thinking it should still be night. Rolling his shoulders back, Nightpaw's eyes adjusted to the light of the den, he stared around, seeing the still sleeping forms of some apprentices. Lazy mice.. The tom thought, smirking slightly as he sat down and started washing his bed fur. Even as the youngest- wait no, not the youngest, but one of the youngest apprentices in there, he knew better than to sleep in, which it looked like these other cats were doing. But, if that tail hadn't woken him up, he would probably be doing the exact thing.
Nightpaw sat there calmly washing as he waited for another apprentice to stirr awake, he was rather bored. He also wondered if his mentor had anything planned for him this morning...was she out on the dawn patrol perhaps...? Who knows.

Mapleleaf peeked her head into the apprentice's den. "Nightpaw! Good, you're awake." she cast a amused eye around the den at the other snoozing apprentices. "Well, c'mon, we're going hunting, and then later today we're going to battletrain with Sparrowsong." She popped her head back out again and waited for her apprentice to come out. "Where would you like to hunt today, or rather, where would be a good place to hunt today? It's warm."

Nightpaw stopped the grooming of his chestfur when his mentor popped in. Good timing. He thought as his ice blue eyes locked with hers curiously.
'Nightpaw! Good, you're awake.'
Obviously. His tail brushed over the dry den floor as he blinked.
'Well, c'mon, we're going hunting, and then later today we're going to battletrain with Sparrowsong.'
His eyes immediately lit up at the mention of battle training, and with the deputy tagging along! It would be a good time for the tom to show just how great he is with learning battle moves! After all, as a kit, he'd started to learn the Leap-and-hold move, plus the Tail trip, that was his favorite to use, especially on the other apprentices. But of course, Sparrowsong's apprentice, Leafpaw would be coming along too he assumed, that no-tailed apprentice was no match for him though. He wasn't worried at all with out-witting the tabby she-cat. Paws itching in anticipation of today's events, the black apprentice stood and hopped over the still dozing cats and leaped out into the open. All signs of sleep gone from his face as he breathed in the morning air. He could hear distant bird calls and feel the light breeze from the north ruffle his sleek jet fur.
His eyes darted around the camp momently to see if anyone else was up and about. The camp was lighting quickly with the sun's rays, more cats were bound to be up in awhile. Nightpaw saw some prey in the fresh-kill pile, but would need restocking of course. Clear blue eyes then went to his mentor as she spoke once again.
Place to hunt? In this warm weather almost anywhere was perfect for hunting, but he had somewhere better! After thinking it over, the tom suggested, "How about over by the berry patch?" Their hadn't been much hunting going on over there, just Smallflower's herb gathering, plus, maybe they'll meet an EmberClan patrol!
The young tom's ears twitched at the thought of actually meeting one, also, if their was a fight, he sure wanted to be in it! Eyes showing anticipation, Nightpaw looked wishfully at Mapleleaf. "Their might be prey out making breakfast of the berries, a perfect time for some hunting to be done." He stated matter-of-factly, smirking. He sat down and licked his shoulder, getting off a puff of moss that snuck onto his pelt at night.

Mapleleaf eyed her apprentice. "Very good! Let's go!" She trotted to the end of camp and sniffed the breeze. The morning was warm, and the sun shone through the leaves onto the two cats' pelts, dappling Mapleleaf's tabby fur. "Are there any moves you want to work on this afternoon for battle training?"
