The sunlight reflected off the water hazily. The stream was running lazily by his feet, which was most likely because it was a bit dried up due to the hot Green-leaf. Twigclaw and his siblings had camped out for the night under some gnarled roots that created something of a overhang above a little patch of pebble strewn river bed. Turtledive hadn't really liked it with his fear of water, but the He and Stoneshadow had been able to convince him that with the water so low there wasn't a big chance of it flooding over toward them. Of course, Twigclaw couldn't have been sure. The only reason they hadn't camped in the open was because it had looked like it would rain. Clouds had been gathering for sometime over the last quarter moon and he had a feeling that when the water did come down, it would be in a thunderstorm, not some light shower. Yet, today, the day seemed perfect. The clouds hung over to one side, the sun's brilliance getting in their way. It would be another hot day, he could tell, but he had the feeling that this place, with its abundant waters, wouldn't be that bad. He could just take a swim.
He blinked groggily. He was curled up near the small den's back wall, snuggled up against a twining root. The tom gave a great yawn before luxuriously stretching, his whiskers twitching in satisfaction. He had gotten a pretty decent night's sleep. Still in a tired state he was about to declare that he would get a few fish for breakfast, yet before he spoke, he noticed that the place was eerily silent. Glancing around, the reason became quite apparent. He was alone in the den. His brothers had departed. This meant one of two things. Either they had run off because of a threat or something entertaining, or, the likely reason, they were playing some type of practical joke. The question was: was this joke they were playing without him, or on him?
That warm fuzzy feeling he had had upon waking dissipated as quickly as dew in a desert. They were up to something. He knew it. Twigclaw crawled out from under the roots cautiously, his ears pinned back against his skull tightly, his face a mix between a scowl of annoyance, a grimace of fear, and a grin of adventure. He padded forward carefully, setting each paw down upon the damp earth carefully, his sharp blue eyes constantly spying the high branches of the trees. Wouldn't it be typical for them to go in the trees; exactly where he couldn't go. Every time a bush rustled, he hopped a little, just knowing it would be like them to lead a fox toward him, let him get freaked out, then save him at the lat minute. He would know because he had done it to Turtledive once. His brother was probably looking for revenge, and it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that Stonehadow would gladly help with anything that sounded like trickery.
Twigclaw was beginning to relax a little, the bristles that had stirred upon his white pelt with its black speckles started to fall back against his spine and shoulders once more. He was telling himself things like: They wouldn't send a fox after me. I'm the smallest and wimpiest, and they know it! or They probably just went off to hunt a little. However, he couldn't throw off the inkling that they were up to something. He had stopped walking and was just stopped between to pines musing when he heard it. It was a great yowl that nearly set him clawing his way to the nearest stream so that he could swim away. Or maybe he would have just run as fast as his legs could carry him. That didn't happen, though. No, curiosity hooked him, and he stalked forward to where he thought the sound had come from: a clump of tiny shrubs around a large witch tree, which in a way was a weed and shrub itself. He nosed his way through to see...

((Thanks. I like making long posts to give others good room to respond with their cats and make long posts, as well. As they say: "Success breeds success". lol.))

Nothing. Wait, nothing? That wasn't possible. With the need for pranks, the need for chaos, seeing nothing was just so wrong. Suddenly, there was a faint scuttling sound of claws against wood. Looking up would do no good, the three were just about identical, only their eyes different, although all blue. It was either Turtledive or Stoneshadow, and there was no scent strong enough to identify who it was. Up above his triplet, a pair of dancing blue eyes were visible, as he clutched something in his jaws. He had found it around the two leg places, and it had been oh so easy to collect what he needed, and still stay in the trees. A fear of the ground wasn't the easiest to live with, Stoneshadow always happened to be in the water or in the trees, and things weren't very good when he didn't have the chance to climb or swim. He had been up at dawn doing this, and energy burned through him, waiting for Twigclaw to get into line with his little contraption.
There! As soon as the other tom stopped, Stoneshadow grabbed the rope which had been attacthed the the strange metal thing, which popped the id off, and gave it a yang. The buccket fell quickly, in a downward spiral, and inside of it? Spiders, of course. Nothing that would harm Twigclaw, but it would be more then enough to worry the tom. Grinning slightly, waiting until the last spider had landed on the black and white tom, Stoneshadow revealed a second bucket, this one plastic instead of metal. Inside, it was full of water, as cold as it was in the dawn morning. He had gathered it himself, after giving Turtledive a good douse, that is. Edging forward ever so carefully, eyes dancing with amusment, Stoneshadow procceed to dump the water all over Twigclaw, getting rid of the spiders, but leaving the other tom soaked.
Turtledive had been gone a while, and one could only wonder what that meant. Although the three were triplets, they operated way differently. With Twigcalw's fear of trees, Turtledive's fear of water, and his fear of the ground, they were a good team, but only if someone wasn't hindered by their fear. As soon as the water hit Twigclaw, Stoneshadow skittered down the tree, sitting so he was only a few branchs above the other tom, black and white pelt gleaming.
"Good morning Twigclaw." Grinning, obviously thrilled at what he had done, Stoneshadow looked playfully at one of his brothers. "How do you think that would work on a clan-cat? Enduce proper freak out?" He had spotted one that was the perfect target, he had just needed to test this out. Now, it was time for the reaction.
What fun!

A rustle of the branches indicated the approach of yet another cat. Unless he was conciously trying, the last triplet wasn't exactly good at both keeping silent, and keeping from hurting himself at the same time. He only seemed to be somewhat more steady on his paws when he was making mischief. "Bad morning." Turtledive grumbled, ears flattened against his head. The black speckled white tom was obviously displeased with being drenched in water. He'd completely freaked out, streaking up the nearest tree without a moment's hesitation. The tom had planned to get Stoneshadow back...but not now. He was probably expecting it now anyways.
The triplets were an odd trio; one was scared of being up high, one was scared or being on ground, while yet another was terrified of water. It was a wonder how they were able to get around together, despite their odd phobias. Like now for instance, Twigclaw was firmly on the ground, Stoneshadow up in the trees as usual, and Turtledive trying his best to be as far away from the wetness as possible. He couldn't believe he actually let his brothers talk him into staying here overnight. Next time, he was picking. Still fuming, Turtledive seated himself on the branch and wobbled a little, before regaining balance. Flicking his ears, he listened attentively to Stoneshadow, perking up when he mentioned pulling the prank on a clan cat. He shrugged, though his blue eyes, identical to his siblings' glowed with mischief "I dunno until we try it. Have anyone in mind?"
